Step-Up Transformers | McMaster-Carr
Improve the efficiency of your equipment— wire these transformers to step your input voltage up or down by as much as 20%. Choose an input/output voltage combination that comes closest to matching your application, then choose the power output (in VA) of the equipment you want to operate. You probably won’t find the exact value you need; choose the next highest rating.
How to Tell the Difference Between 110V and 220V | Hunker
Mar 03, 2019A 110V outlet (and plug) has only one hot terminal, and the hot wire is always black. Another key difference between 110 and 220 circuits is the wire size. Because 220-volt circuits carry higher current, they require 10 gauge or larger wire, whereas the normal maximum wire size in a 110-volt circuit is 12 gauge.
