I just netted a Johnson Viking II transmitter, and would like to know a little about it. I have downloaded the manuals from the BAMA site, so I am probably not at a loss for basic info, hopefully. It appears that it is more or less complete, as far as I can tell now. The little VFO that sits on top is in need of some TLC, as is the whole set.
Johnson Viking II Repair and Modification
The Johnson Viking II was probably the best HF transmitter for AM and CW ever made. It covers nearly all frequencies from 1.8 MC to 30 MC continuously. There was even the coveted CDC model Viking II that had no gaps in coverage, due to its intended use for Civil Defense stations.

1955-1962 E.F. Johnson "Viking Valiant" AM/CW Transmitter. Johnson "Viking Ranger" transmitter but was persuaded by a couple of AM veterans (including K2MP) manual for the E.F. Johnson Viking Valiant amateur radio transmitter. This transmitter was a very nice performer on 160-10 meters, using three 6146s for the final output amplifier.
