Integrin αvβ6 on the surface of epithelial cancer cells activates TGFβ from a latent precursor to induce SOX4 expression, and antibody-mediated inhibition of integrin αvβ6 induces T cell-mediated immunity in immunotherapy-resistant tumor models.
