WIRING A CONTACTOR IN LINE WITH TRANSFORMER
Electrical wiring color codes - Important
For single-phase, Black (for 120V) or Red (for 277) is used for Line and Grey is used for Neutral. Australian Standard / New Zealand standard for wiring colour codes AS/NZS prohibits the usage of yellow, green, yellow-green, black and sky blue colours for phases.
Problem: My 24 volt transformer continues to burn up. This
Jul 31, 2012Most AC systems require a 40 VA transformer. If your transformer is not producing the minumum 24 volts AC at the contactor coil it will cause the contactor contacts to chatter and quickly burn up the contactor. If your 25 VA transformer is being over-worked then it will burn it up right away.

Sep 19, 2021Thermistors like that were too small for a 10 kVA three-phase transformer which would trip the breaker at turn-on. On that I used wirewound resistors to limit the current. There was a timer relay and a contactor to short out the resistors after half a second or so.
How to Wire a Doorbell: 11 Steps (with Pictures) - wikiHow
Mar 27, 2021The line power to the doorbell unit is 120V AC. There is usually a transformer inside the bell assembly where the line power connects. The pair of lines running out of the transformer to the switch for the doorbell are usually 24V. Some instructions will tell you a wireless doorbell with video can run on 8V, but that's stricky.
